At 02:30 I was making my way past the bar and in the direction of my room when I bumped into dad. He told me that he had booked us into a city tour which would be leaving the hotel at 08:45 sharp. There went my lie in!
At 08:45 I was waiting in the lobby when Mario shows up, looking a bit tired. He didn’t make it to breakfast as he was up until 04:00 with some of the others, including the 87 year old. Oh how the times have changed!
The city tour ended up being a 5 hour minibus drive around St Petersburg. It was not quite what we imagined but at least we saw something of the town, albeit from the bus. After it had finished we went for lunch and then took a look inside the Church of the Spilled Blood, which was definitely worth the visit.
We then made the 1.5 hour drive back to our hotel and had an early dinner. Mario went to his room as soon as it finished but I stayed in the lobby, chatting with some of the others for far longer than I should have.
